I have been working in the retrofit space since 2007. I ran a ecobuilding company for 15 years in Brighton and the surrounding areas, renovating more than 100 properties.
We specialised in providing impartial advice to homeowners, landlords & anybody interested in improving the energy efficiency of their home or office, and then delivering that work with our own team and a large network of local subcontractors - from concept to completion. We have lots of reviews on this site of the work that we did and the happy residents of the improved homes.
I hold a BSc qualification and have a Masters degree in Environment, Development & Policy. In 2018 I was one of the first recipients of the Retrofit Academy Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination & Risk Management. I feature in their video guides "Ask Alex" segments for easy to understand practical advice.

I was also a founding member of The Green Building Partnership Ltd, a not-for-profit Cooperative of eco-refurbishment specialists working with local community groups, Brighton & Hove Council, DECC, Brighton 10:10 and other organisations working to deliver energy efficiency in the Brighton & Hove housing stock. GBP Ltd delivered the Green Deal Pioneer Places Project via the 'Low Energy Assessment Fund'. I was also an early non-executive Director of Brighton & Hove Energy Services Company and maintain a strong links with them (BHESCo.) & their focus on improving the environmental credentials of the UK housing stock, delivering people from fuel poverty .
To sum up, I've dedicated to making the world a little nicer, one house at a time for many years but now I have shifted focus to drive this market at scale by offering my Retrofit Coordination Services to Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Private Landlords and Installers.
